How to Apply

All applicants must apply separately for admission and for an audition. The application process for admission depends on whether you are a local or international student.

Admission

Local students (i.e those who were born in Australia or have citizenship or have permanent residency status or are currently studying a full-time year 12 program here in Australia) will generally apply for admission through SATAC. The closing date for SATAC applications is 30 September. However, late applications may be accepted until early December (with a late fee payable). See the list of closing dates for program specific information.

International students will need to see the International Students site for full details about admission.

Audition

Both local and international students will be required to submit an application to attend an audition. The application should reach the Elder Conservatorium of Music no later than 30 September.

Auditions for all instruments/areas of specialisation will be held from 7 to 11 December 2008, at the North Terrace Campus, University of Adelaide. Auditions will also be held in Melbourne and Sydney, for more information visit the interstate auditions page. For those applicants unable to attend at that time, there will be a small number of auditions held in the week commencing 29 September, 2008. In this case, the audition application form must be returned to the Elder Conservatorium of Music no later than Friday 5 September 2008. An explanation of the need for an early audition must be included. Not all areas of specialisation will necessarily be available at this time.
