Non-Award Courses (Single Studies)

In addition to its various full-time programs, the Conservatorium also offers specialist tuition within its Single Studies scheme. This scheme provides training, for example, in a particular instrument, outside the framework of tertiary degree studies. The Single Studies scheme is intended primarily for those of pre-tertiary age who wish to develop their skills to a high level perhaps with a view to entering one of the Conservatorium's full-time programs at a later stage.

The Single Studies scheme is also available to those who may be studying for a degree in a different discipline (eg, Medicine, Law, etc.). Generally, there is an expectation that those who receive individual tuition within the Single Studies scheme may be invited to participate in one of the Conservatorium's major ensembles, for example, the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. The Conservatorium has a range of endowed scholarships for Single Studies tuition.

Students who wish to improve their theoretical skills and knowledge may wish to apply for the Music Theory Bridging course.
