Elder Conservatorium of Music
|
Elder Music LibraryMusic Librarian: Gordon Abbott The Elder Music Library (EML) occupies the ground floor of the elegant Hartley building on Kintore Avenue, opposite Government House, and close to the State Library. The EML forms one of the most important music collections in Australia, and is acknowledged to be the largest music library in the Southern Hemisphere. It houses books on music, scores, sheet music, orchestral parts, collected editions, music journals, video recordings and DVDs, CD recordings, and archive recordings of performances by Conservatorium orchestras and ensembles. The EML is an ‘outpost’ of the main Barr-Smith Library, and students also have access to all the central services and collections in the main library.
